Winter Paralympian Swaps Skis For The Stage To Headline Kent B2B Ashford

March 28, 2018

Millie Knight, the 19-year-old Winter Paralympian and Downhill World Champion, will headline the prestigious Kent B2B event in Ashford this June.

Returning from the 2018 Paralympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea with two silvers and a bronze, Kent-born Millie will share her story of determination with delegates at the prestigious business event.

Taking place at Ashford International Hotel on 7 June, this longstanding annual event run by Kent Invicta Chamber provides a platform to showcase the best of Kent business

Jo James, Chief Executive of Kent Invicta Chamber commented:

“This is Kent’s longest running networking event – now in its 32nd year – and we’re always looking to invite the most current and exciting voices from around the county to headline the show.

“The chance to welcome Millie to the stage to share a story of determination, adaptability and drive is one we know Kent business people will enjoy and take a lot away from. It’s fantastic to have Millie join us so soon after her return from the 2018 games – we look forward to hearing about her experience.”

Millie started skiing at six years old, the same time she began to lose her eyesight. She only has five percent peripheral vision and represents ParalympicsGB with a sighted guide Brett Wild from the Royal Navy.

As well as Millie’s headline slot, award-winning agency Sleeping Giant Media will put on two of their popular Giant Talks providing exhibitors and delegates with insights on best practices in the ever changing digital sphere. Topics will include social media marketing and digital marketing dos and don’ts.

The event is free to attend, delegates can secure their spot online here

A business breakfast, sponsored by Caxtons, will take place an hour before the expo opens. Delegates and attendees will enjoy exclusive networking opportunities and hear from special guest Councillor Brad Bradford, Ashford Borough Council’s Cabinet Member with portfolio responsibility for Highways, Wellbeing and Safety.

He will be talking about his journey from PC to politician and provide insight into one of the most forward-thinking borough councils in the UK. Spaces are limited, tickets available for £8.95.

The Kent B2B Ashford is a prime opportunity to connect with organisations of all sizes and sectors, showcase work and learn more about Kent at large.
